Grounded connections

Voor de expositie '450 jaar bescherming Haagse Bos' (7 april 2026 t/m 1 mei 2026, Atrium Den Haag) maakte ik samen met Julianne Jonkers, Eden Kösters en Maya Rjeschni de lichtinstallatie 'Grounded Connections'. 'In the Haagse Bos, nothing exists in isolation. Beneath the surface, roots form a network of exchange and connection. A form of communication, quiet and imperceptible to us. Impulses travel from tree to tree, passed along, received, and transformed, within a slowed-down system that mirrors our own sense of community. This work is inspired by that principle: a slow and deliberate hand-assembly of the fabric elements, like the gradual intertwining of the forest. The fabric carries the traces of the woodland, dyed by the leaves the trees have shed, while a light pulse resembles the beating heart of the forest and all that is hidden underground.'
